The Art of Memoir, by Mary Karr. =Brilliant, quirky, genuine. Read this book. Sound advice with no BS, (she sees right through it) and a lift for your own stubborn spirit.

The artist's Way, A Spiritual Path To Higher Creativity, by Julia Cameron. =Beautifully written,the original inspiration book.

The Right To Write, An Invitation and Initiation Into the Writing Life, by Julia Cameron. =Compelling "sequel" to The Artist's Way.

The Purpose of Your Life, Finding Your Place in the World Using Synchronicity, Intuition and Uncommon Sense, by Carol Adrienne.
=I found this book life-changing.

Find Your Purpose, Change Your Life, Getting to the Heart of Your Life’s Mission, by Carol Adrienne. =Also a powerful motivator for me.

Spiritual Writing, From Inspiration To Publication, by Deborah Levine with Cynthia Black. = For those whose work is personal/spiritual.

=Good advice, kind & truthful, no BS. Praised by Writing Teachers.

Writing Down the Bones: Freeing the Writer Within, by Natalie Goldberg. =She has many books for writers & writer-wannabes that are favored by lots of writing teachers, though I found her less personal than Anne Lamott.

Naked Drunk and writing– Shed Your Inhibitions and Craft a Compelling Memoir or Essay, by Adair Lara. =One of my most-favorite books. Both Tools and Inspiration. This writer is personal, practical, and has a great sense of humor.

The Shortest Distance Between You and a Published Book, 20 Steps To Success, by Susan page. =A how-to for getting published, includes query letters and book proposals.

How To Get Happily Published, A Complete and Candid Guide, by Judith Appelbaume. =Another good how-to for getting published.

The Self-publishing Manual, How To Write, Print and Sell Your Book, by Dan Poynter
=Pointer is the original guru of successful self-publishing, has downloads from his website. Some are free.

What's Your Book? A Step By Step Guide to Get You From Ispiration to Published Author, by Brooke Warner. Warner is known for "hybrid publishing," Profesional publishing where you pay for costs. Not a "vanity press," they provide editorial support at a fee,and handle some business details.
